Hi! My name is Ainul and I have been working with young children for close to 17 years. I am a graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE Merit) and I began my career as a teacher with NTUC First Campus and continued to deepen my professional skills and knowledge in ECE. My personal philosophy of early childhood education encompasses revolutionary theory and the work of Friedrich Froebel and Urie Bronfenbrenner. I believe that education is an evolving space where children learn actively through play and inquiry and that the environment has implications for educational practices and the way children learn; and I believe in the importance of developing children’s self-esteem, confidence and awareness of self and others, as they grow to be valued individuals.

Understand the heart before the job – I trust that building and strengthening relationships is the foundation of all work involving people. Inspire teachers first and then children – I see every teacher in my team as a treasured resource and place high emphasis on continuous professional development. Raising a child is a work of community – It takes all hands, hearts, and heads to work in collaboration as we grow the next generations ahead.

In 2010, I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College and was given an opportunity to join the Grow With Us programme, as I discovered what it meant to be a leader. I made my mark in leading a new centre at Jalan Sultan in 2011, where I worked closely with children from lower-income households and families at risk. In 2016, I led my team in achieving SPARK Certification with Commendation and was nominated as one of the finalists for the ECDA Promising Early Childhood Leader Award 2017.

In 2017, I graduated with a Master of Education in Drama from NIE and was accorded the opportunity to be an Executive Principal in a Large Early Years Centre at MFS Punggol Drive (EYC). After completing 4 years with the team at MFS Punggol Drive, we successfully attained SPARK Certification with Commendation in 2022. I am also humbled to be the recipient of the Outstanding Leader Award 2022 by ECDA. With these recognitions, I am encouraged to continue conveying my dedication to serve and advocate for children and the early childhood fraternity.

I aim to continue inspiring my team to believe that if Heroes were chosen to save the world, Educators were born to nurture young lives. Because to believe in the HEROIC makes one a HERO.
