Frequently Asked Questions
Early Years Centres
No. Children enrolled in EYC will follow the same curriculum as other My First Skool centres.
No, there will be no developmental difference. Both My First Skool and MOE Kindergarten programmes follow the same national standards, the Early Years Development Framework (MSF) and the Nurturing Early Learners Framework (MOE), ensuring your child receives the same quality of learning and support.
It is natural for children to need some time to adjust when starting K1, but most settle in quickly with the right support. At My First Skool, we work closely with MOE Kindergartens to make this transition smooth and positive. Before K1 begins, you and your child will be invited to an orientation session at the partner MOE Kindergarten to meet the teachers and classmates. Parents can also accompany their child on the first two days of Term 1 to help them ease into the new routine. These steps ensure your child feels comfortable and confident in their new environment.
The MOE Kindergarten programme runs for 4 hours each day. If you need a full‑day option, care services are available to provide a full‑day programme for your child.
Yes, you may request a transfer to another My First Skool centre that offers the Kindergarten programme. Placement will depend on the availability of vacancies at your chosen centre.
Under the EYC model, your child is guaranteed a place only at the MOE Kindergarten mapped to the centre. If you prefer a different MOE Kindergarten, you can indicate this during the pre‑admissions phase of the registration exercise in your child’s N2 year. Placement at another MOE Kindergarten will depend on availability.
Yes. All eligible Singaporean children enrolled in our Early Year Centre (EYC) will be guaranteed a K1 place in a partner MOE Kindergarten. Enrolment takes place during their nursery year through a pre‑admissions phase of the MOE Kindergarten registration exercise.
My First Skool’s EYC focuses on providing nurturing infant care and enriching pre‑school programmes for children aged 2 months to 4 years. From age 5, children continue their learning at a partner MOE Kindergarten for Kindergarten 1 (K1) and Kindergarten 2 (K2). This approach ensures a smooth transition and gives families access to a continuous pathway of quality education.
Admissions & Fees
Infant Care fees start from $1,235 per month, and Childcare fees (Playgroup to Kindergarten 2) start from $640 per month. These rates are before any subsidies and GST.
You can apply through your child’s centre. Our friendly staff will guide you through the application process for preschool subsidies.
All Singapore Citizen children are eligible for the Basic Subsidy. Additional subsidy is available if a) at least one parent work a minimum of 56 hours a month, and b) family’s gross monthly household income is $12,000 or below, or the per capita income is $3,000 or below.
“Yes. In addition to ECDA subsidies, families may also benefit from other support schemes. The Bright Horizons Fund (BHF) empowers young children from low‑income families to have an equal start in life by providing access to quality preschool education and positive classroom experiences.
The Income Family Micro‑Insurance Scheme (IFMIS) supports children’s continued education if a parent or guardian becomes seriously ill, suffers a permanent disability, or passes away.
For more financial assistance options, visit ECDA’s website.”

Each year, the Bright Horizons Fund provides more than S$1.5 million in support, helping over 5,000 children from low‑income families gain access to preschool education.

My First Skool Experience
We provide well‑balanced and nutritious meals that follow the Health Promotion Board’s guidelines, encouraging healthy eating habits from young. Meals are designed to give children the energy and nutrients they need for learning and play, and we introduce a variety of food so they develop healthy tastes early. All meals at My First Skool are freshly prepared in-house by our trained and committed cooks. They are so tasty that our children often end mealtimes with a smile.
Yes. Nutrition is a key part of your child’s development, and our meals are carefully planned by professional food consultants to provide a balanced diet. Most of our centres are accredited under the Health Promotion Board’s Healthy Meals in Preschools Programme. This means we follow strict guidelines to ensure children receive healthy, tasty, and age‑appropriate meals every day, supporting both their growth and brain development. All meals at My First Skool are freshly prepared in-house by our trained and committed cooks, ensuring quality and care in every bite.
At present, we do not provide vegetarian meals. If your child has specific dietary requirements, please let the Principal know during registration. We will discuss options with you to make sure your child’s needs are supported in the best possible way.
For infants up to 6 months old, we follow parents’ guidance and provide formula or breast milk. From around 7 months, we gradually introduce cereals or solid foods in consultation with parents, so that every child transitions smoothly and comfortably. Our teachers take care to ensure mealtimes are safe, nurturing, and aligned with your child’s developmental stage.

Our dedicated educators guide each child with care, using a structured yet flexible curriculum that blends real-life experiences, purposeful play, and social interaction.
