I joined NTUC First Campus as a teacher in 2008 and became a centre leader at My First Skool since 2013. As an Early Childhood (EC) professional, I advocate to provide quality education for young children where families and the wider community have a collective effort in nurturing our future generations. I believe it is the responsibility of everyone to build the community that we want to live in.

So, I am delighted to have successfully led my team in piloting Inter-generational programme and expanded it in my course of work when I was leading MFS Braddell Heights and MFS Kampung Admiralty. The programme encourages young children and seniors to spend quality time engaging in intentionally planned activities. With consistent facilitation, the positive outcomes have shown how important a cohesive community can support each other in the areas of learning and well-being.

Growing professionally with My First Skool has been exciting. I was conferred a scholarship to obtain Bachelor of Science in EC Education and Leadership, and later, Masters of Education (EC). To hone my leadership skills over the past decade, I was selected to attend multiple sector’s leadership programmes. I am humbled that my leadership experience has led me to be awarded as ECDA’s 2019 Outstanding Leader and 2020 Outstanding Centre for Teaching and Learning (Commendation). The past centres which I have led have also achieved SPARK accreditation and a couple with Commendation.

My journey in the organisation has indeed helped me to grow holistically as an EC practitioner and I am positive that my growth continues to impact the children, families and professionals in the EC community efficaciously.
