A day in the life of a My First Skool Kindergarten 2 child

Practicing good daily eating habits
Besides feeding children with yummy, healthy food prepared to Health Promotion Board guidelines, we also teach them how to clean up after their meals to nurture self-reliance and independence.
Learning patriotism and respect
Morning exercise and saying the national anthem/pledge to instill love for country and build unity among children.
Social and cultural awareness of one's environment
Learning about the latest local news and encouraging them to ask questions, making them more aware of their world while building critical thinking.
Fun daily academic learning
Consists of 1 hour of English and 1 hour of Chinese. Depends on the lesson plan for the day, which may include show-and-tell sessions, alphabet learning, and more.
Artistic endeavours that inspire
Children painting and drawing on their own in the art corner, or building a structure with their peers in the manipulatives corner.
Healthy, scrumptious meals
A variety of nutritious meals made in accordance with the Health Promotion Board's guidelines, taking into account the child's dietary needs.
The soundtrack to your child's development
Music helps to build language, cognitive, and gross motor skills in a fun, entertaining way. Children learn to play simple musical instruments while recognising rhythms and beats.
Resting to recharge
A brief afternoon break allows children to unwind a little and recap what they've learnt in the morning.
The confidence to choose one's play
Building independence in children while teaching them to take ownership of their learning by giving opportunities to choose what kind of activities they want to do with their peers.
Mid-afternoon meals to keep hunger at bay
Tea breaks and snacks to ensure children get the nutrients they need to stay focused in school.
The great outdoors
We spend quality time walking around neighbouring parks and gardens as well as engaging in gross motor activities such as obstacle courses, games, and playing with tricycles.
Special interest areas to explore
Children partake in learning corner activities that match their interests. The manipulative corner train fine motor skills, while the dramatic corner (with its pretend fruit stall) allows for role-playing. There are also English/Chinese and art learning corner activities.
Intergenerational bonding activities
To encourage children to interact with their seniors, we hold regular learning activities and conversations with older people. This teaches them to celebrate diversity and inclusivity as well as be more empathetic with older generations who have contributed to the nation.
Reconnecting with parents and loved ones
After a long, fun day at school, it's time for our little ones to go home and be with their families. As a security measure, all parents/caregivers must check their children out on their app upon pick-up.
