My First Skool at Blk 487 Pasir Ris

I have been involved in the early childhood field for nearly twenty years after earning my Bachelor in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wales and my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Monash University.

The experiences that I have gained are from both international and local preschool settings. During my tenure in this centre, we have been awarded with a certification of SPARK, Healthy Meals in Pre-schools Programme (HMPP) by Health Promotion Board and other various partnership with community, for instance collaboration with NTUC Health Silver Circle Senior Care Centre for our Inter-Generational Programme. At this centre, my team and I are working closely with 169 childcare children and 20 infants and their families.

My educational motto is ‘stay positive, maintain communication, and do the right thing!’ I believe that keeping the atmosphere positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. I feel that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child to attain his or her full potential.

I’m Hanna, mummy of Jovie. I would like to express my deepest thanks to all the teachers at the Blk 487 Pasir Ris centre — especially Tan Laoshi, Ms Asy, Yang Laoshi, Ms Anie, and the other teachers whose names I may have forgotten — for the care, dedication, and love they showed throughout the time my daughter attended, from Playgroup to N2.
Every time I visited or fetched her, I could clearly see how much effort the teachers put into engaging the children. Rather than letting them play on their own, the teachers were always reading books with them, teaching patiently, and creating a warm, meaningful learning environment. This is something I rarely saw at other centres.
I also want to thank the principal and the admin staff who always accompanied and supported Jovie. I truly appreciated the weekend activities they organized, giving parents the chance to join in and have fun with their kids — those were such special moments.
Jovie has changed schools three times, so I’ve had the opportunity to compare, and this centre truly stands out. That’s why I wanted to leave this note of appreciation — to say thank you for everything you’ve done for my girl.
We’ll definitely drop by to say hi when we’re in the area. Once again, thank you so much for the wonderful experience! ❤️
