I joined My First Skool at Blk 49 Whampoa South in 2019, bringing with me more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education. Inspired by Nelson Mandela, who once said, “history will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children,” I am driven by a passion to ensure the early childhood sector remains a vibrant and dynamic space where educators truly make a difference.

Through carefully designed classroom spaces and a child-centric curriculum, our children engage in purposeful activities within a fun and safe environment. I believe it is essential to balance an enriched academic experience with meaningful social interaction, as this builds the self-confidence, social courtesy, and grace that serve as core skills for every child.

My First Skool at Blk 49 Whampoa South actively participates in various community projects, such as “Start Small Dream Big,” an initiative by ECDA that helps children understand moral values and internalise positive behaviours. We have also been awarded several Innovation Grants for projects that enhance our teachers’ competencies in facilitating learning. Our other community collaborations include partnerships with local primary schools and the National Library Board.

Having maintained SPARK certification since 2016, our centre continues to uphold industry-leading quality standards. My aspiration is to provide all children with a solid foundation to become positive lifelong learners and the leaders of tomorrow. As Aristotle said, “those who know, do; those who understand, teach.”
