The goal of Early Childhood Education is to activate the children’s own natural desire to learn, turning every wall into doors of opportunities. This quote had inspired me and reminded us on the imperative role educator play in a child’s life. Every child is unique and special; he or she is stitched together with different combinations of abilities and needs. Like a butterfly in the wind, each one flies at its best height. Children need safe and conducive environment to learn, scaffolding to grow and strong foundation to stay anchored.

With more than 11 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College, I have had much diverse and rich learning opportunities through this journey to learn and grow in my role as an educator and now, as a leader.

As a leader now, I believe that besides parents, teachers are our children’s role model. It is hence vital for me to empower them, cultivate the habit of professional sharing to contribute to their professional growth. When teachers of multi-abilities work together intently to provide the best for everyone, it leaves a strong imprint of teamwork. Together with my team, we have established strong and enduring partnerships with families and community partners such as National Library Board, Health Promotion Board, National Environment Agency, All Saints Home (Inter-Generational Programme), for us to create authentic and a rich variety of learning experiences for the children and families.
