Does your centre provide any transport?
My First Skool currently does not provide any transport services for the children.
Non-Air Conditioned
Is the centre air conditioned?
My First Skool childcare classrooms are not air-conditioned but are well ventilated. The infant care classes are, however, air-conditioned. Currently, there is only one childcare centre which is air-conditioned; it is located in Jurong Point Shopping Centre.
Trial Period
Do you have a trial period?
All new enrolments will be given a 2-week trial period, which is chargeable. During the trial period, parents do not have to give one month’s notice to withdraw their child. However, the full two weeks will be chargeable even if the child does not attend school for the full two weeks as the childcare place has been reserved for that child. In addition, the registration fee and insurance premium are not refundable.
MCYS subsidy can be applied for this trial period. As stipulated by MCYS, the 2-week trial period must fall within the same month for parents to enjoy the subsidy.
Child's Withdrawal
When should I give notice if I want to withdraw my child? And when will I get back my refund (if any)?
You have to give the centre one month's notice before withdrawal, failing which, your deposit will be forfeited. Refunds will be made one month after all the relevant documents are submitted.
Notification of Infectious Disease
My child did not attend school for the last few days, would i be informed if there are infectious disease outbreak at the centre?
Please be assured that all centres will thoroughly clean and sterilise the premises, equipment and facilities.
Food Menu
What is your menu? Is it healthy?
We provide balanced and nutritious meals based on guidelines from the Health Promotion Board. Most of our centres have been awarded the Healthy Eating Award by the Health Promotion Board. This Award recognises kindergartens and childcare centres that provide healthier food options and promote healthy eating habits.
Do you provide vegetarian food? If my child is a vegetarian can I pack food for him/her?
Our centres does not provide vegetarian food. You may pack food from home for your child. Please inform the Principal on your child's dietary requirement during registration.
Do your centres have halal certification?
Currently, our Haig Road centre has halal certification. For all our other centres, we do not serve pork, lard or beef. Our chicken and fish are from suppliers with halal certification.
What is the brand of the milk powder that your centres serve?
All of our centres serve Nespray milk powder. If you need to know exactly what brand of milk powder your centre is using, we will forward your details to the centre teacher to check and return your call.
Is it true that children always fall sick at childcare centres?
As children adjust to the new environment and routine in the centre, some may fall sick during this initial period. This is a passing phase. Our Principals work closely with parents of new children to ensure a smooth transition for every child.
